Lutheran Homes Foundation WA (LHFWA)
Lutheran Homes Foundation (WA) Inc adopted its current identity in 2016. It was originally
established as Lutheran Homes WA in 1974, providing low-cost rental accommodation for elderly people in four units opposite Bethlehem Morley Lutheran Church until the units were sold in 2014. Sales proceeds were invested in a low interest loan to St Johns Perth for the Faith for the Future project. Loan repayments are being reinvested in managed funds.
We believe in the words of Jesus, who said that when we reach out in love and care to someone else, we do it for him (Matthew 25:37-41).
While not directly providing care for needy or disadvantaged members of our immediate or broader community, we are able to provide funding for this charitable purpose. We do this mainly by inviting grant applications from WA Lutheran congregations or other nominated charities for programs that help people in necessitous circumstances. We may also donate to, cooperate with, or assist other organisations who have a similar purpose to ours.
Further information about LHFWA grant applications can be found here.
